STAR appoints new senior V-P for its English language channels

Liza Newnham will play the role of the new senior vice-president/ general manager for STAR’s English language channels

STAR has roped in Liza Newnham as senior V-P/ general manager for its English language channels. Newnham will be responsible for managing the business operations of STAR Movies and STAR World.

Liza has TV experience in Asia as well as in international markets. She joined STAR in 2005 as V-P, Star Ventures, and was responsible for managing STAR’s joint business interests in India.

After that, she was named V-P, ad sales and distribution, STAR. Before joining STAR, she has worked in the business development segments at FOXTEL in Australia and SKY Italia in Italy.

Newnham will also contribute to strengthening the channel brands. Newnham will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Laureen Ong, COO of STAR.
