Effies 2007 special awards

Apart from the Agency of the Year Award, six special awards were given out at the Effie Awards 2007

Apart from & #BANNER1 & # Agency of the Year Award, which was won by O&M, six special awards were given out at the Effie Awards 2007. These were the Yahoo! Big Idea Chair, the People's Choice Award, the Grand Effie Award, Marico Uncommon Sense Award, Brand Equity Bravery Award and Effie Client of the Year Award.

The Yahoo! Big Idea Chair was won by McCann-Erickson for the Happydent White 'White Palace' campaign in the Consumer Products category.

Both the People's Choice Award and the Grand Effie Award were won by Lowe for the USAID 'Yehi Hai Sahi' 'Condom Bindass Bol' campaign in the Corporate Advertising category. Lowe garnered the maximum number of votes - 5,000 - in a national poll for the People Choice Award. The 'Condom Bindass Bol' campaign was created for the client, PSP-One, Abt Associates, which in connection with the agency also won the Effie Client of the Year Award.

Lowe also won The Brand Equity Bravery Award. This award is meant for advertising that is bold and daring. Lowe bagged the award for its work on the ICICI Prudential Retirement Solutions campaign, 'Retire from Work, Not Life', in the Services category.

The Marico Uncommon Sense Award was scored by JWT for 'Sunsilk Gang of Girls' in the Consumer Products category.

The Effie Awards received a total of 101 entries this year, considerably higher than last year's 79 entries. There were seven categories for the awards this year: Consumer Products, Consumer Durables, Services, Corporate Advertising, Internet Advertising, Mobile Advertising and Integrated Advertising Campaign.
