INX News formally announces the departure of Vir Sanghvi

The professional working relationship between NewsX and Vir Sanghvi will terminate with effect from January 29, 2008

NewsX has formally announced that Vir Sanghvi, chief executive officer, of the channel will be putting in his papers. The decision comes after the mutual consent of Vir Sanghvi and INX News. The professional working relationship between the two will be terminated with effect from January 29, 2008.

Vir Sanghvi remarks, “This announcement will now put the rumours, leaks and plants of the last fortnight behind us as we have separated in an atmosphere of goodwill and amicability.”

Commenting on the development, Indrani Mukerjea, chairperson, INX News, says, “I wish Vir (Sanghvi) well for his future endeavours. NewsX is at the moment on target for a speedy launch. We will very soon announce a new editorial head for the organisation.”

Vir Sanghvi is former editor of Hindustan Times (HT). He served the organisation for many years as editor-in-chief, and later as editorial director. During this period the company launched several editions which includes the Kolkata, Chandigarh and Mumbai editions. HT revamped its design and page format during Sanghvi’s tenure.

He is likely to continue his association with Hindustan Times as advisory editorial director with his columns in the Hindustan Times, Brunch and Mint. He is reputed as being one of the youngest editors in India and is also a television personality. During his career was consulting editor for Ananda Bazaar Patrika. He also edited Imprint and is co founder-editor for Bombay Magazine.
