Reminiscing about his tenure at Neo Sports, Kalathil says, “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Neo Sports. Sports broadcasting is an area that has kept me fascinated.” He believes that Neo Sports has both the management and assets to be a pan-Asian leader in the sector. Though his professional relationship with Neo Sports has come to an end, Kalathil says, “I joined Neo Sports as a friend of the Nimbus family in which capacity I will continue to interact with the team.”

According to Thawani, Neo Sports has grown to be a broadcast business clocking revenues well over Rs 3,000 million in its first year of operations and Kalathil has played a big role in this achievement. Today, the channel broadcasts on seven major platforms and thousands of cable networks across 30 countries from West Asia in the West to Japan in the East.

An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Neo Sports was Kalathil’s first encounter with television during his 24 year career in fields spanning FMCG, telecom and broadband. He came to Nimbus in October 2006 from the Tata Group. Prior to that, he served at PepsiCo as executive director, marketing, and he has also done a stint with VSNL.
