Arup Ghosh replaces Avirook Sen at INX News as newsroom head

Ghosh has more than 25 years of experience in print and TV journalism, and has held senior positions at television news companies, including NDTV, Sahara Samay and Channel 7 (now IBN 7)

Following the exit of Avirook Sen, INX News immediately released an official communiqué announcing the appointment of Arup Ghosh as newsroom Head.

Ghosh has more than 25 years of experience in print and TV journalism, and has held senior positions at television news companies, including NDTV, Sahara Samay and Channel 7 (now IBN 7). Prior to that, he spent 13 years working for the top newspapers of the country including The Times of India, Hindustan Times and The Statesman.

Ghosh’s stint with television started with NDTV. Subsequently, he quit NDTV to start his own enterprise, and later with Sahara Samay Rashtriya as the channel head. He quit Sahara Samay in early November 2004 and moved to Channel 7 (now IBN 7) as director news. In May 2005, he quit Channel 7, and again started his own venture Network 1 Media Consultancy (N1MC), which launched an Asian community channel in the US called STV.

In the official communiqué, Indrani Mukerjea, chairperson, INX News, was quoted, "I am delighted to welcome Arup to the INX family as the Newsroom Head, and I am sure he will add immense value to the company. We will also shortly announce the appointment of our Editor-in-Chief."

Ghosh said, "I really look forward to working with the team at INX. This is the perfect time in the industry to raise the bar where the English News genre is concerned, and I am very happy to be a part of the team who are committed to doing this.”
