Pranesh Misra joins World Advisory Board of Effies

In his capacity as member of the World Effie Festival Supervisory Board for 2008, Misra will be a part of the group that will suggest measures to raise the bar at the 2009 Festival gathering in Singapore

Pranesh Misra, global director, marketing accountability, Lowe, has been invited by the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS) and the New York chapter of the American Marketing Association (organisers of the World Effie Festival) (NYAMA) to join the World Effie Festival Supervisory Board for 2008.

The invitation to join the Effie board is a recognition of Misra’s contribution to the Ad Club of India as chairman of the Effie India programme during the last two years. His leadership has helped in promoting the awards programme in India and in maintaining its standards as the last word in marketing and effective advertising.

As a board member, Misra will be part of a group that will suggest measures to raise the bar at the 2009 Festival gathering in Singapore and he will make his recommendations to strategise and improve the experience of attendance at the 2009 Festival.

In 2006, the NYAMA awarded Singapore the rights to organise the World Effie Festival, which was conceptualised as an annual event in Asia that would complement the European Cannes Lions Advertising Festival.

Later this month, on February 28 and 29, Singapore will hold the inaugural World Effie Festival at the SUNTEC Convention Centre. The first ever winners of the Asia-Pacific Effies will be announced at the inaugural World Effie Festival in Singapore. Five gold winning case studies from India will be presented as well, among them Lowe’s Lifebuoy Little Gandhi case study.

The inaugural World Effie Festival is dedicated to understanding, inspiring and celebrating creative effectiveness in communications. More than 2,000 advertising and marketing professionals from around the world are expected to attend the event. In addition, a global audience of virtual delegates will be able to view the highlights via blogs and webcasts. The Second World Effie Festival is already confirmed in February 2009 in Singapore.
