Yogesh Manwani quits MCCS

At MCCS, Manwani was responsible for handling the marketing and distribution operations for the group’s TV channels, including STAR News, STAR Majha and STAR Ananda

Yogesh Manwani, vice-president, marketing and distribution, Media Content and Communications Services (MCCS), has put in his papers. He is serving out his notice period at present. Manwani’s next destination is not known because he was not available for comment at the time of filing this report.

At MCCS, Manwani was responsible for handling the marketing and distribution operations for the group’s television channels, including STAR News, STAR Majha and STAR Ananda. He has spent a total of four years at MCCS. Prior to MCCS, he worked with O&M, where he handled account management. He has more than a decade’s experience in advertising and marketing.

Recently, Manwani was responsible for setting up a first of its kind merchandising and brand extension of STAR News. The project, which is being done in association with STAR India’s licensing and merchandising division, launched three books based on the show, Teen Deviyaan. The books are called Tarot 2008, Astrology 2008 and Numerology 2008.

Manwani was also part of the team that launched STAR Majha, the Marathi news channel, in June 2007. The channel has been gaining popularity among the Marathi population and has been positioned to keep pace with the mindset of progressive Maharashtrians.
