Rakesh Shah joins Hindustan Times

Shah has put in his papers at Business Standard to join HT’s marketing team in a senior leadership position

Rakesh Shah, senior vice-president, advertising sales, at Business Standard, has put in his papers at the media company after six years. He has now joined the Hindustan Times in a senior leadership position. Shah refused to divulge his exact role and designation, but says he has been lured by the fresh challenge that HT presents. Shah used to report to Akila Urankar, president, Business Standard.

A commerce graduate and an MBA from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Shah is a print specialist of sorts. He started his career in 1990 with the Indian Express Group. He spent seven years there and launched a number of marketing initiatives. In 1997, he joined Mediascope, a contract publishing organisation. After spending five years there, he moved to Business Standard.
