141Sercon appoints Uday Patwardhan creative head

Patwardhan is an arts graduate from the Raheja School of Arts in Mumbai and has more than two decades of experience in the advertising industry

141Sercon, the below the line marketing arm of Bates David Enterprise, has appointed Uday Patwardhan creative head of its Mumbai operations. Prior to this, Patwardhan worked with August Brand Communications as creative director. He will be responsible for strengthening the creative function of the Mumbai branch and will work closely with Rajiv Menon, national creative director, 141Sercon, and Ravi Shankar, branch head, 141Sercon.

Patwardhan is an arts graduate from the Raheja School of Arts in Mumbai and has more than two decades of experience in the advertising industry. He started his career in 1985 with Lintas. He spent six years there, and in 1991, moved to Bates David Enterprise (then Clarion). He was associated with that agency for seven years and worked at both the Mumbai and Bangalore branches.

He left for Mauritius in 1999 to join an ad agency called Art Line. There he worked on brands such as Air Mauritius and BMW. He returned to India in 2000 and started working as a brand consultant. He worked as an independent consultant for the next five years. Some of the clients he worked for during this period include the Chitralekha Group, Wunderman India and a design firm called Cool Graphics in Nairobi.

In 2005, Patwardhan joined August Brand Communications, part of Concept Communications, and worked there for three years. Some of the other brands he has been associated with during his career span include GMR, Air Deccan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj and Blue Dart.
