Ritu Sharda joins Publicis India Delhi as creative director

Sharda began her career in 2001, as a junior copywriter with Mudra

After the exodus it witnessed recently, Publicis India is now on a hiring spree. Ritu Sharda, creative director, Rediffusion Delhi, has been brought in at the agency’s Delhi branch in the same capacity. She will be in charge of the Future Group and Aviva accounts at the agency and report to Anindya Banerjee, who is creative head of the Delhi office.

Sharda’s first stint in advertising was an internship with Capital Advertising while she was doing a postgraduate course in marketing management at the Times School of Marketing. An economic honours graduate, she began her career in 2001, as a junior copywriter at Mudra. Two years later, in 2003, she stepped down as senior copywriter. She then spent six months as copy supervisor at Contract.

In early 2004, Sharda joined McCann as copy supervisor and went on to become creative group head. She moved out in mid-2007 to join Rediff and served there for around nine months in the creative function.

During the course of her career, Sharda has worked on brands such as HBO, Dabur, Perfetti, LG, Samsung, Airtel, Virgin Atlantic, Microsoft, Hindustan Motors, Monster.com, MasterCard and ITC.
