Emami V-P quits to join Western Union as director

Rajesh Mehta has put in his papers at the Emami Group, where he was vice-president, marketing. He is set to join Western Union as director, marketing, South Asia. Western Union offers consumer to consumer money transfer services.

Mehta was with Emami for almost a year. He has more than 17 years’ experience in strategic planning, media planning, marketing, branding and buying. Prior to joining Emami, Mehta worked with Pidilite Industries as head of marketing. He led the company’s marketing operations in the adhesive and wood preservatives category.

An engineer from Mumbai University, Mehta has also worked with companies such as Rasna, Tips and Toes, and Atco Health Care. He started his career at Mukand as a graduate engineer trainee in the methods and product development department. As executive assistant to the director at Mukand, he managed all activities relating to capital project monitoring and control before starting his career in marketing.
