Sources say the first round of presentations is over. JWT is the incumbent agency on the business

Sony India

has called for a pitch for its Vaio personal computer range. According to sources, the first round of presentations is over and the agencies are now gearing up for a second round.

Sources inform agencyfaqs! that around four agencies, including JWT, the incumbent agency, likely took part in the pitch, but the number of participating agencies could not be confirmed. Though agencyfaqs! connected with a senior company spokesperson at Sony India, the spokesperson refused to share any information about the pitch. Again, according to the sources, this is an annual pitch.

In 2007, Sony Vaio released a TVC, which made use of animated eyeballs. Aptly titled, All Eyes on You, the agencies have been briefed to take this line of thought further forward.

The advertising budget for the Vaio account could not be ascertained. However, the sources say it is an important business with significant advertising spends attached.

Sony Vaio releases new notebook models, targeted at various target groups, from time to time. At present, it has models such as TZ, CR, FZ, AR, and the N series, among others.

In terms of advertising, the notebook market is witnessing a lot of action involving HP, Lenovo and new entrants Acer and Toshiba.
