years as head of promotions at Sahara One, Naina Toor Singh is leaving to join Neo Sports as head of on-air promotions.
Through her seven year career, Singh has worked across different genres -general entertainment, kids and news - in television. Sports is one genre she hasn't worked in yet, so she is excited about her new assignment.
Along with promos, Singh will also develop the commercial arm of the Neo channels. She will create and develop creatives, interstitials and spots for the sponsors and the clients associated with the various shows and series on the Neo channels. Neo Sports and Neo Cricket are both niche channels and have different target audiences, so the challenge will be in building channel specific communication, while still keeping them linked under one network.
An applied arts graduate from the National Institute of Design, Singh started her career in 2001 at STAR News in Delhi. After two years, she moved to Mumbai to join UTV's Hungama, where she handled the channel's branding and promotions. She moved from there to Sahara One, where she was responsible for transforming the channel to its current look.
Singh terms herself as a team player, involving everyone at every stage of the project. She says she enjoys every project that she takes up, regardless of how small or big it might be.
