Lintas Media Group wins media buying duties of Jyothy Laboratories

The media buying duties were earlier handled by Carat Media Services

The media buying and implementation duties for Jyothy Laboratories Ltd (JLL) have been won by Lintas Media Group (LMG), following a multi-agency pitch. Mudra Media continues to handle JLLs media planning duties. 80 -85% of the media spend will be in televison commercials, as is typical of FMCGs.

Confirming the development, NP Sathyamurty, joint president, LMG, says, “We are delighted to be associated with Jyothy Laboratories and are proud to be part of the 25th year of their success story in India. We are certain to further their brand strengths with LMG’s team talent and tools, which will complement JLL’s integrated planning and buying process. And I trust this will enable us to take the visibility of the JLL brands to the next level.”

Carat Media Services, which is the group’s incumbent agency, won the account in 2006. At that time, the media planning duties were retained with Optimum Media Solutions (OMS).

The Jyothy Laboratories' journey started with the launch of Ujala in 1983, achieveing a pan India roll out for the brand by 1997. The new millenium saw Jyothy Laboratories enter into the household insecticide and utensil care segment with the launch of Maxo Cyclothrin coils and Exo anti-bacterial dishwash bar. Jeeva ayurvedic soaps was launched in 2002.

Situation, a Mumbai based agency, has being handling the creative duties for Ujala and Maxo since their inception. Interact Vision, Delhi has been handling the creative duties for Exo and Jeeva for the past three years.
