Both Dua and Bakshi will continue reporting to Rahul Johri, senior vice-president and general manager, Discovery Networks India. Dua will head Discovery’s national sales team and be responsible for advertising revenue. He moved here from Zee Telefilms in 2002.

Dua believes that his goal is to improve the deliverables for advertisers and rake in higher revenue for the network. The idea is to continuously improve the brand proposition as the best bet for existing and potential advertisers.

Bakshi joined Discovery in 2004. He will manage the three channels, Discovery Channel, Discovery Travel and Living, and Animal Planet. He will also implement the network’s consumer marketing strategy.

Bakshi says, “The effort will be to consolidate and strengthen the network’s position by offering interesting, high quality programming. A recent case in point is the encouraging response of viewers to the introduction of new time bands and the Hindi feed of Animal Planet.”
