Rahul & #BANNER1 & # Shaw has joined INX News as senior vice-president, advertising sales. He will be in charge of driving the revenue function for NewsX, the English news channel, and also for INX's upcoming channels. He was earlier in the same post at NDTV Imagine.

Shaw says, "INX News gives me a bigger and better portfolio to work with. The channel has a premium look and is clutter free, and thus it adheres to international standards. The head honchos know what they want the channel to achieve and all of us are working towards it."

Shaw has around 13 years of experience and started his career with Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, where he specialised in concept selling in the print media sector. He then moved to Turner International, where he handled HBO, Cartoon Network and CNN. Later, he joined SET India, where he managed revenue for the English channels, AXN and Animax. Next, he joined STAR India, where he held various positions in the sales department. He then moved to NDTV Imagine, where he headed frontline sales.

Commenting on Shaw's appointment, Vynsley Fernandes, chief operating officer, INX News, says, "Rahul has exposure to niche genres, considering his past work experience in different media such as print and sales. Also, he is a professional when it comes to startup ventures. He knows perfectly how to create, build and lead a sales team."

Indrani Mukerjea, chief executive officer, INX Media, echoes the same thought and says, "Rahul is experienced in the sales sector and he has experience in the niche market and that is what we were looking for."

Shaw will be based in Delhi and report to Fernandes.
