Effies 2008: 30 case studies shortlisted for final round

O&M tops the list again this year with nine shortlisted case studies. JWT is second, with eight

The names of the 30 case studies that have been shortlisted for the final round of presentation of the Effies 2008 have been announced.

O&M tops the list again this year with nine shortlisted case studies. JWT is second, with eight. Lowe comes third with six. Rediffusion Y&R and McCann Erickson share fourth place with two shortlisted case studies each. Mudra Multiplier, Bates 141 and Mindshare India all have one case study each.

The case studies have been chosen in seven categories: Consumer Products, Consumer Durables, Services, Corporate Advertising, Internet Advertising, Mobile Advertising and Integrated Advertising Campaigns.

Effies 2008: 30 case studies shortlisted for final round
O&M's work on Vodafone has got it three nominations in the Corporate Advertising and Services categories. The Bingo and Cadbury Bournvita campaigns have got it two nominations each – one in the Consumer Products category and the other in the Integrated Advertising Campaigns category. The Motoyuva campaign has got O&M a nomination in the Consumer Durables category. The Dove Haircare campaign has been shortlisted in the Integrated Advertising Campaigns category.

The Lead India campaign for The Times of India has secured JWT nominations in the Corporate Advertising and Integrated Advertising Campaigns categories. The campaigns for Diamond Bride, Sunsilk, Kurkure and Nike have each won it a nomination in the Consumer Products category. The Pepsi campaign is the only one to be nominated in the Internet Advertising category this year. Red Ribbon Express has won JWT a nomination in the Services category.

The Tata Tea campaign has secured Lowe two nominations in the Services category. The ICICI Prudential Life Insurance campaign has won it nominations in the Consumer Products and Integrated Advertising Campaigns categories. The agency’s work on Idea has won it a nomination in the Services category, while Havell’s Cables has won it a nomination in the Consumer Durables category.

The Airtel campaign has secured two nominations for Rediffusion Y&R in the Services and Integrated Advertising Campaigns categories. McCann Erickson's work on Saffola Gold and Saffola Life have won it a nomination each in the Consumer Products and Integrated Advertising Campaigns categories, respectively.

Mudra Multiplier's work on TVS Scooty has won it a nomination in the Consumer Durables category. The Virgin Mobile campaign has won Bates 141 a nomination in the Services category. The HSBC Premier campaign from Mindshare India was the only campaign to be nominated in the Mobile Advertising category.

The final round of case study presentations will be held on November 20 at the Welingkar Institute of Management in Mumbai.
