Red FM tops in Mumbai

Other than Mumbai, where Red FM has moved into the top spot, all the other cities continue with last week’s leaders

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 4 is out and except in Mumbai, where Red FM has moved to the top spot, the leaders in all the other three cities are holding strong. The toppers are Radio Mirchi in Kolkata and Delhi, Big FM in Bengaluru and Red FM in Mumbai.

Mumbai

The competition continues here, though Red FM has moved to the top spot with a market share of 16.5 per cent, gaining 0.9 percentage points. Radio City, with a 14.9 per cent share, has slipped into the second place after losing 1.3 percentage points. Big FM, at No. 3, has seen a decrease of 0.4 percentage points in its share and stands at 14.7 per cent.

With a 13.5 per cent share, Radio Mirchi is in the fourth spot, showing a nominal increase of 0.1 percentage points. Holding onto the fifth spot is Fever FM, with an 11 per cent market share, maintaining its share over the previous week.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, AIR FM Gold has a 10.9 per cent share; Radio One (7.3 per cent); AIR FM Rainbow (4.3 per cent); Meow FM (3.3 per cent); Akashvani (1.8 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (1.6 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi is at the No. 1 position in Delhi, with a market share of 30.5 per cent in Week 4, an increase of 4.4 percentage points over the previous week. AIR FM Gold continues in the second place, with a market share of 14.2 per cent, a decrease of 1.7 percentage points.

Fever FM has retained its third spot with a share of 10.9 per cent. Radio City is next, with a share of 9.8 per cent. Tied at fourth place with Radio City last week, Red FM is down by a position and now has a share of 9.2 per cent, a loss of 0.5 percentage points.

Among the other stations in Delhi, Radio One has a 7.2 per cent share, followed by Big FM (6.6 per cent); Meow FM (3.6 per cent); Hit FM (3.3 per cent); AIR FM Rainbow (2.9 per cent); Vividh Bharati (1.6 per cent); and Akashvani (0.2 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM is in the top spot here with a 24.9 per cent share, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the earlier week. Though its share has fallen by 1.3 percentage points, Radio Mirchi continues in the second spot in Bengaluru with 18.7 per cent share.

Holding on to the third spot is AIR FM Rainbow, with a market share of 11 per cent, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points. Moving up two spots is Radio One, which holds the fourth place with 10.2 per cent market share. Radio City has slipped a place and has a share of 9.3 per cent, an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the previous week.

Among other stations in Bengaluru, SFM has a 9 per cent share. The other players in the market are Fever FM (6.4 per cent); AIR FM Vividh Bharati (4.3 per cent); Radio Indigo (3.5 per cent); Akashvani (2 per cent); and Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent).

Kolkata

The top positions here remained unchanged in Week 4. With a share of 19.6 per cent, Radio Mirchi continued to be the No. 1 in the city. While the gap between the No.1 and No.2 in the city was 0.4 percentage points in the earlier week, it has increased to 3.8 percentage points in this week. Big FM maintained its second position, with a market share of 15.8 per cent, a decrease of 3.4 percentage points. Friends FM, too, maintained its position as the No. 3 here, with a share of 12.1 per cent – a fall of 1.8 percentage points from the earlier week.

Amaar FM has held onto its spot and has a share of 9 per cent, a decrease of 0.9 percentage points. Red FM is in the fifth spot, with a share of 8.2 per cent, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points. Tied up with Red FM is the new entrant in the market, Radio One.

Among the other stations in Kolkata, Fever FM has an 8 per cent share; Meow FM (6.7 per cent); AIR FM Rainbow (4.8 per cent); AIR FM Gold (3.1 per cent); Akashvani (2.2 per cent); Power FM (1.5 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (0.9 per cent).
