He put in his papers on March 4 and is scheduled to join another broadcaster
Albert Almeida, executive vice-president and business head, Sony Entertainment Television, has decided to move on. He put in his papers at the broadcasting company yesterday and is currently serving his notice period.
Confirming the news, Almeida says, “Yes, I have decided to move on.” He is scheduled to join another broadcast venture about which he did not reveal anything. “Still some time before I talk about that,” he adds.
In 2005, he was made the business head of the network’s movie channel, Max, as executive vice-president and business head, SET Max. In 2006, he was given the additional responsibility of looking after the general entertainment channel, Sony, as business head.
Almeida has more than a decade’s experience in the advertising industry. Prior to Sony, he worked with JWT as vice-president and regional account director, Asia Pacific, for the Unilever business.
A few weeks ago, Kunal Dasgupta, chief executive officer, Sony Entertainment Television had called it quits after 14 years with the company.
