Patrika has appointed Amar as vice-president, North and East
The Patrika Group, which publishes the Hindi daily Rajasthan Patrika in Rajasthan and Patrika in Madhya Pradesh, has appointed Aditya Amar vice-president, North and East. Amar will be based in Delhi and will report to Arvind Kalia, national head, marketing, Patrika Group.
Earlier, Amar was associate vice-president, Bhaskar Group. He has spent 14 years of his career at Bhaskar and was promoted from senior general manager to associate vice-president in April 2008.
Amar tells afaqs!, “Patrika is in an expansion mode with new launches of newspapers as well as other media wings such as Radio Tadka (FM radio station) in Raipur after Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur. It is indeed a great opportunity to join a media house that believes in growth through expansion based on the superiority of products offered.”
Kalia, in an official release, says that Amar's appointment will strengthen Patrika's position in the eastern and northern regions. “His vast and rich experience in media will certainly be an asset for the Patrika Group,” he says.
Amar holds a Masters degree in marketing from IGNOU and has also undertaken the General Management Programme from IIM Indore.
Patrika (which is Rajasthan Patrika in Rajasthan) dropped ‘Rajasthan’ from its name when it entered the Madhya Pradesh market – Bhopal and Indore – last year. The publication has editions in Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hubli and Chennai. In addition, it has 12 editions in Rajasthan. As per IRS 08, Rajasthan Patrika has a total readership of 1.33 crore.
