Heather Gupta is channel head, UTV Bindass and UTV Movies

Heather Gupta has been promoted as channel head for both UTV Bindass and UTV Movies. She has been acting as group vice-president, human resource development, UTV Group.

The new role will be an additional responsibility for Gupta as her earlier responsibilities will continue.

In an official communiqué, Zarina Mehta, chief executive officer, UTV Bindass, hailed Gupta's promotion and expressed confidence that her tremendous passion, energy and substantial experience will see the channel going from strength to strength.

In a career spanning 16 years, Gupta has spent 12 years in the advertising and marketing industry. She started her career with P&G in 1992 as a graduate trainee, from where she moved to advertising. She had fruitful stints at McCann Erickson and JWT in London. Her stint at JWT London provided her with opportunities of looking after a wide range of global blue chip clients before moving to Thailand in 2001 to head the Unilever Asia Foods business with JWT Bangkok.

Subsequently, she moved to India to set up Unilever’s regional detergent team at Lintas before taking on the role of head, human resource (HR) for Lintas in 2005.

In 2008, Gupta joined the UTV Group as the head of the group's HR team.
