Prasana Krishnan is COO, Neo Sports Broadcast

Prasana Krishnan has been promoted to the post of chief operating officer, a newly created post at Neo Sports Broadcast. Prior to taking up the new responsibility, Krishnan was executive vice-president, strategy and business development, Neo Sports, where he was involved in various functions including strategy and business development, corporate and acquisitions, amongst others.

Krishnan will take up his new role with immediate effect and will be based in Mumbai. He will report to Harish Thawani, chairperson, Neo Sports. Neo Sports Broadcast owns and operates two channels, Neo Cricket and Neo Sports.

Krishnan has been associated with Neo Sports since 2006. Talking to afaqs!, Krishnan says, “Neo Cricket achieved the No.1 status in 2008. We plan to consolidate our leadership as well as drive audiences to our other channel, Neo Sports.”

Armed with 13 years of experience, this graduate from Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College also has a Masters degree in Finance and Control from Delhi University. At 36, Prasana has worked mainly with the media and consulting sectors. He started his career as senior investment analyst with The Economic Times. His previous assignments include Bennett, Coleman & Co. and Arthur Andersen.

The launch of two sports channels, Neo Cricket and Neo Sports, from paper to implementation has been his most challenging assignment so far.

In an official communiqué, Thawani says, “Krishnan’s promotion is an eloquent testimony of internal management depth at Neo. In him, we have an outstanding young leader with a strong understanding of global markets, the sports industry and excellent leadership qualities – a combination which will play an integral role in leading Neo into the next phase of the network’s evolution.”
