Radio City has promoted Ashit Kukian as president, sales. Prior to his elevation, Kukian was national head -- sales at the organisation, which he joined in 2005.

As part of his new responsibilities, Kukian will work towards ensuring maximisation across verticals, while attending to his primary task of full utilisation of Free Commercial Time. He will also be in charge of the radio station's full spectrum activation cell, Radio City Connect, which is engaged in providing clients with 360-degree brand marketing solutions.

He will also devote time to the brand's in-house creative solutions cell and music portal, planetradiocity.com. Kukian says, "The current market scenario makes it imperative to offer impactful options to the clients. There is a need to redefine service levels, setting new benchmarks in the industry."

& #BANNER1 & #As president, sales, Radio City, Kukian will focus on the outsourced business modules such as Friends FM, Kolkata, and Suno lemon, Gwalior, along with identifying new revenue opportunities for the group.

A sales specialist, Kukian possesses over 20 years of experience, of which he has spent almost 15 years in media management. Prior to joining the radio industry, he had a long stint of 13 years with Bennett Coleman & Company. His last assignment at the organisation was as regional sales head, west and east, Zoom Television.

Kukian started his career with Johnson & Johnson in 1987. He moved on to Berger Paints in 1989 and also had a brief stint at L'Oreal, as part of its launch team.

In an official communiqué, Apurva Purohit, chief executive officer, Radio City comments, "Kukian has been with the organisation right from 2005. And he has the excellent ability of driving and motivating his team, building value for the business. His extensive experience and knowledge of the media industry serves to drive our strategy forward, especially in today's rocky times."
