Mobile firm ActiveMedia Technology acquired by UK's 2ergo

The company has also hired Ramesh Krishnan as COO

ActiveMedia Technology (AMT), a mobile VAS and marketing firm based in UK, has been acquired by mobile marketing company, 2ergo, which is also based in UK.

In India, AMT has worked with all the major operators and has served clients such as ABN Amro, ING, Aaj Tak, Monster, Hyundai and Western Union.

Speaking to afaqs! about choosing to align with 2ergo, Raj Singh, executive director of AMT says, "There is a change happening in the mobile marketplace, as brands want to reach their customers globally through strategic campaigns. We thought it was in our best interests to tie up with a strong player and 2ergo has presence in key markets around the world."

With the tie-up, 2ergo will also expand its presence in the South Asian region. Singh adds that the company will continue to operate with the existing local management and the company name will also remain the same for now.

In addition, Ramesh Krishnan has been appointed the chief operating officer of AMT. He comes on- board with 20 years of experience in communication technology. He was previously vice-president of global sales at Comviva Technologies.

Chris Brassington, group managing director of 2ergo says in a statement, "Not only does the deal give us operations in India, the world's fastest growing mobile phone market, it also means that from now on, we will plan to integrate AMT's intellectual property and expertise into the 2ergo offering globally."

2ergo has customers such as O2, ABC, Fox News, Yahoo! and AT&T. The company has also recently acquired Broca, a mobile security solutions provider and Wapfly, a mobile Internet firm.
