Global Cricket Ventures has appointed Quasar Media as the exclusive sales partner for, the official website for the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 series.

The interactive agency will be responsible for the monetisation of and will approach advertisers and ad agencies for this. Quasar Media also handled the monetisation of for both seasons.

Global Cricket Ventures is responsible for the development, management and monetisation of various cricket portals. Apart from, and -- the official website of the IPL series and BCCI respectively -- are also in its ambit.

& #BANNER1 & #Speaking to afaqs!, Piyush Rathi, business director, Quasar Media, says, " will be monetised through banner and pre-roll video ads, sponsorships, content syndication and barter deals."

The agency plans to get sponsors for the exclusive match images, news, scorecards, players' profiles and the video content uploaded on the site. Unlike, the video content on will not be streamed live during the matches. Instead, it will be made available as video-on-demand. Content such as scorecards, players' profiles and videos will also be offered to publishers for syndication.

The agency will target automobile, telecom, mobile handset manufacturers, FMCG and financial advertisers.

Rathi is not ready to disclose the names of advertisers that the agency has already approached. But he points out, "We are already in the advanced stage of negotiations with three to four advertisers."

From its experience with, the agency believes that will receive about five million unique visitors during the course of the series. It expects that the video content will receive about 20 per cent of the total traffic on the site.
