MK Anand calls it a day at Zoom

According to sources, Anand will join UTV Global Broadcasting as CEO next month

After spending nearly five years at Zoom TV in various capacities, MK Anand, business head, Zoom has put in his papers. Sources inform that he is headed to UTV Global Broadcasting as chief executive officer.

Currently serving the notice period, he is expected to join UTV next month.

Anand had been associated with Zoom even before the official launch of the channel and has worked on every aspect of the channel, including its blueprint, content, technology and revenue streams. It is also learnt that the move is prompted by his desire to further explore the potential of television.

UTV Global Broadcasting has channels such as UTV Movies, World Movies, Bindass, Bindass Movies and also the business news channel, UTVi (soon to be called Bloomberg-UTV). Shantonu Aditya is the executive director and chief executive officer of UTVi.

When contacted, officials at UTV refused to comment on the development, calling it market speculation.
