GroupM announces winners of inaugural Choreos Awards

GroupM India announced the winners of its internal awards, Choreos; twelve individual and six team awards were presented

Celebrations continued late into the night as GroupM India announced the winners of its internal awards, Choreos, instituted by the group for the first time on October 9 in Mumbai. Complete with music and entertainment, the enthusiasm was evident on the faces of everyone present.

The company instituted the awards to recognise the work done by its professionals across the group.

R Gowthaman, leader, Southeast Asia, Mindshare, tells afaqs!, "We identified a set of values that is common for all agencies of GroupM. We thought the best way to set values was to reward them and felicitate people for holding these values."

There were a total of six individual and three team categories that were awarded, while one overall award was also presented. Two awards – the Jury Award and the People's Choice Award were given out in the Individual category.

The individual awards were given out first, followed by the team awards.

The first category of the evening was called Breaking New Ground. Out of 11 nominations, the Jury Award was presented to Anisha Iyer of GroupM Mobile and Akanksha Jain of Mindshare. Jain also bagged the People's Choice Award in the category.

In the Power of One category, among five nominees, the Jury Award went to Ratan Rathore (GroupM Trading), while Brajesh Dwivedi (Mindshare) won the People's Choice Award.

VK Grover (GroupM) bagged both the Jury Award and the People's Choice Award in the Band of Brothers category. There were 11 nominations in this category.

In the Walk the Talk category, Deepak Gujrati from Maxus won both the Jury Award and the People's Choice Award.

In the next category, Great Place to Grow, Zubin Tatna from mediaedge:cia and Priti Murthy won the Jury Award and the People's Choice Award respectively.

In the final individual category, Relentless Excellence, Kartik Sharma of Maxus and Swati Mohan of Mindshare were presented the Jury Awards, while Iyer from GroupM Mobile picked up her second award (People's Choice) for the evening among seven nominees.

The first of the three team categories was Choreographic Convergence in the way Brands Meet Consumers. Team Vodafone from Maxus bagged the Choreo in this category, among six nominees.

The next category was Choreographic Convergence in the way Content Meets Value, in which Team CTG, Cluster (the buying team of GroupM) won the award among three nominees.

The final team category was Choreographic Convergence in the way People Meet Potential. The Admin and IT Team won in this category.

The final award for the evening, Overall Way GroupM Meets Choregraphic Convergence, was awarded to Team IPL from Maxus, which handled the Indian Premier League account.

Vikram Sakhuja, chief executive officer, GroupM South Asia presented the team awards to the winners.
