Association of Indian Magazines names Pradeep Gupta as president

Tarun Rai, chief executive officer of World Wide Media (WWM) has been appointed as the vice-president and Mitrajit Bhattacharya, president and publisher, Chitralekha, is the new general secretary of AIM.

The decision was announced during the annual general meeting that took place in the Capital on Friday, November 06.

Talking about his new role, Gupta says, "The idea is to bring together all the members of AIM and identify key issues that need to be addressed. Priority will also be to showcase India and Indian publishers in their best light at World Magazine Congress 2011, scheduled to be held in the country."

With more than 27 years of experience in the IT industry, Gupta has provided strategic consultancy to the Indian government to formulate India's software export strategy in the past. He is also the general partner of Infinity Venture Fund and has been with eGurucool.com as its chairman.

The electrical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi has done his PGDIM from IIM Calcutta. He is also a founder member of AIM.
