Starcom IP, the digital arm of the Starcom MediaVest Group, has won the digital marketing duties for Tata Indicom, the CDMA brand of Tata Teleservices.
The agency has won the business after a pitch-process, which included three or four agencies. Media2Win was the incumbent agency.
Speaking to afaqs!, Suyesh Shankar, national strategy director, Starcom IP, says, "We will handle both online creative and media duties for Tata Indicom, Photon, the mobile broadband service and Walky, the wireless phone service." The agency has already started working on the account.
Speaking to afaqs!, Lloyd Mathias, chief marketing officer, Tata Teleservices says, "We will increase our focus on digital marketing. Tata Indicom will use all kinds of digital marketing formats such as display, search and social media marketing and online reputation management to boost the visibility of the Tata Indicom brand."
The digital marketing will be used for both brand building and lead generation.
In an official communiqué, Pushkar Sane, chief digital officer, North and South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group says, "It is a significant win for us. We are committed to bring the best-in-class digital thinking to the brand and ensure that Tata Indicom stands out in the online space."
For the record, Starcom IP bagged the digital marketing duties of Kaya, the skin care brand owned by Marico, in August 2009.
