Effies 2009: 52 case studies shortlisted for final round

With 19 entries, Ogilvy India leads the pack of shortlists once again; Lowe Lintas follows with nine entries

The Advertising Club Bombay has announced the shortlists for the final round of presentations at this year's edition of the Effies. A total of 52 case studies have been shortlisted.

The second round of case study presentations will be held on December 04, followed by the trophy distribution ceremony on December 16.

For yet another year, Ogilvy India can boast of the maximum shortlists, with 19 case studies under the seven categories of Consumer Products, Consumer Durables, Services, Corporate Advertising, Internet Advertising, Mobile Advertising and Integrated Advertising Campaign.

Following Ogilvy India is Lowe Lintas, with nine case studies that include two joint entries with BBH Asiapac. Rediffusion Y&R has eight shortlists; JWT India has five; while the Mudra Group has four case studies shortlisted.

McCann Erickson, Arc Worldwide - Leo Burnett, Contract Advertising (India), Ignitee Digital Solutions and DraftFCB Ulka have one case study each.

Ogilvy India's campaigns for Vodafone titled 'Chhota Credit', 'Call Conference', 'Happy to Help' and 'Vodafone Zoozoos' have got it four nominations in the Services category. 'Vodafone Zoozoos' and 'Happy to Help' have also been nominated in the Integrated Advertising Campaign category. The Zoozoo campaign finds a place in the Mobile Advertising category as well.

In the Services category, Ogilvy India's campaigns for Jagati Publications (Move to Tomorrow) and Indian Premier League (Building India's Only Successful Domestic Sporting League) have also been shortlisted.

The agency's other campaigns - for Center Fresh (Keep The Mouth Locked), Limca (Fresh Ho Jao), Sprite (Seedhi Baat No Bakwaas), Pond's (The Cinderella Effect : The Journey from Mass to Class) and Cadbury Dairy Milk (How Cadbury Won The Match) - have been shortlisted under the Consumer Products category.

Bajaj Pulsar (Pulsar Mania) and Tata Sky (Tata Sky, Sodhiji) have fetched Ogilvy India two nominations in the Consumer Durables category.

The IDBI Bank (Underdog Rising) campaign secured the agency a nomination under the Corporate Advertising category; while the Lipton Yellow Label (The World's Largest Online Collaborated Jigsaw Challenge) campaign has been shortlisted in the Internet Advertising category.

Lowe Lintas' campaign for Tata Tea (Jaago Re) has been nominated in the Consumer Products and Integrated Advertising Campaign categories. Campaigns for Havells (Shock Laga), Maruti Suzuki SX4 (SX4 - Men are Back) and Fastrack (He Says, She Says) have won the agency a nomination each in the Consumer Durables category.

The Britannia 50:50 (Kabhi Sweet Kabhi Salty) and Idea (What an Idea) campaigns have won the agency a nomination each in the Consumer Products and Services categories.

Lowe Lintas and BBH Asiapac have been jointly nominated for the Axe (Call Me) campaign in the Mobile Advertising and Consumer Products categories.

The Airtel campaigns - 'Voice SMS', 'M Commerce' and 'Airtel Nokia HBO' -- have secured Rediffusion Y&R three nominations in the Services category. In addition to 'Voice SMS' and 'M Commerce', 'Joy of Running' and 'Impatience is the New Life' campaigns have got the agency four nominations in the Integrated Advertising Campaign category.

The agency also won a nomination in the Consumer Products category for its campaign for Kaya (Let Your Skin Talk).

JWT India got two nominations in the Consumer Products category for its Kellogg's Special K (Special K) and Horlicks (Discoveries for a Better Life) campaigns.

The agency's campaigns for Times of India - A Year in the Life of Chennai and Teach India - have won it a nomination each in the Services and Integrated Advertising Campaign categories, respectively. Its campaign for Indian National Congress (Aam Aadmi ke Badte Kadam) has won it a nomination in the Corporate Advertising Category.

Mudra Group's work on Economic Times (Power of Ideas), Union Bank of India (Your Dreams are Not Yours Alone), Shell Foundation (Khidki Amma - Gossips Through The Window) have won it a nomination each in the Corporate Advertising category.

The agency has also been nominated in the Consumer Durables category for its TVS Scooty (Women on Wheels) campaign.
