The Advertising Club, Bengaluru, is gearing up to host the annual Big Bang Awards, scheduled to take place on February 26. The awards will be presented by The Times of India, with Images Bazaar as the associate sponsor and afaqs! as the online sponsor.
Bengaluru Ad Club has invited entries from advertising and media agencies for work done between January 01, 2009 and December 31, 2009. The deadline to submit entries is February 05. Agencies seeking details about sending in their entries can log on to www.adclubbangalore.net.
In all, 180 awards will be given out in 60 categories and more than nine groups. A new category for digital media has been introduced this year, which will cover online campaigns, digital campaigns for web and mobile, viral marketing and social media campaigns.
The entries will judged by a panel of 14 veterans from the industry. Apart from the 180 awards in the fray, there are the top five coveted awards for Top Art Director, Top Copywriter, Top Agency, Top Advertiser and Top Media Agency, which are decided by a point tally system among the award winners.
Bengaluru Ad club plans to add new sponsors from radio, outdoor and TV channels. Last year, Radio One, Adlink and Zee Kannada sponsored the events in the three media, respectively.
Initiated for the Bengaluru ad fraternity in 1987, the Big Bang Awards is now a national awards ceremony and recognises creativity in all forms of advertising. Last year, Big Bang received about 4,000 entries.
