RAM Week 4: AIR FM Gold reclaims fourth spot in Mumbai

In Bengaluru, Radio One surges ahead of Red FM, registering a market share of 9.2 per cent

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 4, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 16.8 per cent, experiencing a loss of 0.8 percentage points in comparison to the previous week. The average share of Radio Mirchi in the city for the past four weeks stands at 17.1 percentage points.

The second and third positions are occupied by Red FM and Radio City respectively. Red FM has a market share of 14.7 per cent, with a gain of 0.7 percentage points over the previous week. Radio City is placed third, with a market share of 13 per cent and a loss of 0.3 percentage points. Its four weeks' average market share turns out to be 13 per cent.

AIR FM Gold has bounced back to the fourth place this week, after sliding to the sixth spot in Week 3. The radio station has a market share of 12 per cent, registering a gain of 0.9 percentage points. Big FM has slipped a spot to settle down as the fifth player with a market share of 11.9 per cent. The four weeks' average market share for the station is 11.8 per cent.

The sixth place is occupied by Fever FM, which has recorded a market share of 11.7 per cent. The radio station's market share for the past four weeks stands at 12 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots with market shares of 6.6 per cent and 4.8 per cent respectively.

This week, among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 3.7 per cent, followed by Meow FM (2.5 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.2 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi continues to lead in the city with a market share of 24.7 per cent and it has not registered any gain or loss in comparison to last week. The radio station's average market share over the past four weeks turns out to be 24.9 per cent.

Fever FM, with a market share of 18.7 per cent, occupies the second spot. Its average market share for the past four weeks is 18.6 per cent. The third spot is occupied by AIR FM Gold, which has a market share of 17.2 per cent. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 17.5 per cent.

Red FM and Radio City are placed fourth and fifth in the city, with market shares of 9.2 and 9.1 per cent. Red FM's four weeks' average market share is 9.2 per cent, while Radio City's average market share turns out to be 8.2 per cent.

Big FM has a market share of 6.9 per cent and occupies the sixth spot in Delhi. It has gained 0.2 percentage points in comparison to Week 3. Radio One is seventh in the city, with a market share of 5.8 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 4 are Meow FM, which has a market share of 2.5 per cent; followed by Hit FM (2.4 per cent); AIR FM Rainbow (1.8 per cent); Vividh Bharati (1.3 per cent); and Akashvani Delhi (0.3 per cent).

Bengaluru

As has been the case for weeks, this time, too, Big FM leads in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM in the second and third places.

Big FM has a market share of 19.8 per cent, with a gain of 0.5 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 19.4 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is placed second with a market share of 17.7 per cent and has registered a loss 0.2 percentage points. The average market share of the radio station is 17.6 per cent. Fever FM is the No. 3 player and has a market share of 15.7 per cent.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.5 per cent and its average market share for the last four weeks turns out to be 12.3 per cent. The fifth position is occupied by AIR FM Rainbow, with a market share of 9.9 per cent, registering a loss of 1.1 percentage points over Week 3.

Last week, both Radio One and Red FM had scored identical market shares of 8.7 per cent each. However, this week, Radio One has surged ahead with a market share of 9.2 per cent. In comparison, Red FM has managed a market share of 8.6 per cent.

Among other stations in Bengaluru in Week 4 are Vividh Bharati, which has a market share of 3.9 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2 per cent); Gyan Vani (0.6 per cent); and Akashvani (0.3 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the last four weeks is 20.6 per cent.

It is followed by Big FM and Friends FM in the second and third positions. Big FM has a market share of 16.7 per cent. The four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 16.5 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 13.7 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share stands at 14.1 per cent.

Aamar FM occupies the fourth place in the city, with a market share of 10.3 per cent, registering a loss of 0.8 percentage points. The four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 10.4 per cent.

Red FM has moved up a spot to occupy the fifth spot, with a market share of 8.6 per cent and a gain of 1.1 percentage points. Previous week's fifth rank holder, Fever FM, has climbed down a spot to become the No. 6 player in Kolkata. The radio station's four weeks' average share turns out to be 7.6 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM are placed seventh and eighth in the city, with market shares of 6.4 per cent and 5.3 per cent, respectively. Radio One has gained 0.3 percentage points, whereas Meow FM has lost 0.1 percentage points in comparison to Week 3.

This week, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 4 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.4 per cent); Akashvani (2.2 per cent); Power FM (1.2 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (0.6 per cent).
