Soni replaces Gowri Satyamoorthy Kapre at Hindustan, who is currently on leave for personal reasons
Hindustan Media Ventures has appointed Dhiraj Soni as head of marketing for its Hindi daily, Hindustan. Soni replaces Gowri Satyamoorthy Kapre, who is currently on leave for personal reasons.
Soni's key responsibilities will be to handle the brand communication for Hindustan and spearhead the daily's expansion plans.
HT Media recently hived off its Hindi news business, under the subsidiary Hindustan Media Ventures. As per the de-merger, HT Media offloaded its Hindi daily, Hindustan, along with two Hindi magazines, Nandan and Kadambini, to Hindustan Media Ventures.
Prior to joining Hindustan, Soni was part of the Sony family. He was a product manager for Sony India between 1996 and 2000; in 2002, he moved to Sony Ericsson as head - product group marketing.
Soni has a PG Diploma in business management from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and also holds a degree in Electronics from Delhi University.
