Soumen Ghosh Choudhury appointed national business head of Big FM

Choudhury will be responsible for all business aspects of the FM business across the channel's 45 station network

Big FM, the radio arm of Reliance Media World, has promoted Soumen Ghosh Choudhury to the position of national business head. Earlier, Choudhury was business head, East and South regions.

In his new role, Choudhury will be responsible for all business aspects and the functioning of the FM business across its 45 station network. He will report to Tarun Katial, chief executive officer, Reliance Media World.

Choudhury says, "The radio industry is poised for huge growth, with advertisers evaluating and understanding its cost efficiency and reach and using it to the optimal. Of course, there is also Phase 3 on the anvil. The network strength, excellent programming integrations and exclusive content across stations are promises we continue to deliver to our listeners and advertisers alike. My journey this far has been very enriching and I am happy to be at the hub of this radio revolution."

Choudhury joined the radio station as chief technical officer in 2006 before taking up the role of the regional head for East.

An engineer by qualification, Choudhury specialises in electronics and communication. He began his career with Bharat Electronics and has had stints at Motorola JV and media companies such as STAR, Radio City, UTV and Sahara in his 20 year career.
