RAM Week 12: AIR FM Gold holds on to its fourth position in Mumbai

Fever FM ousts Big FM from fifth position in Mumbai

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 12, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 17.2 per cent. Its average share in Mumbai for the past four weeks also turns out to be 17.2 per cent.

The second and third spots are occupied by Red FM and Radio City, respectively. Red FM has a market share of 14.2 per cent, which is close to its four weeks' average market share of 14.3 per cent. Radio City has a market share of 13.1 per cent, while its average market share for the last four weeks is 13.3 per cent.

For the third week running, AIR FM Gold stays put at No. 4, with a market share of 11.7 percent, though it has lost 0.2 percentage point this week. Fever FM has moved up a spot to No. 5 in Week 12. It has registered a market share of 11.4 per cent, gaining 0.1 percentage point in comparison to the previous week.

This week, Big FM has slipped a spot to No. 6. Its market share is 11.1 per cent, slightly lower than its four weeks' average market share of 11.5 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy seventh and eighth spots in the city, with market shares of 6 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of

4.5 per cent; followed by Meow FM (2.7 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.3 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in Delhi too. Its market share in the city is 24.6 per cent, 0.1 percentage point less than in Week 11. Its average market share over the past four weeks is 24.1 per cent.

Fever FM, the No. 2 radio station, has a market share of 18.8 per cent, registering a marginal gain of 0.1 percentage point. Its four weeks' average market share is 18.6 per cent. At No. 3, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 18 per cent, which is 0.8 percentage point higher than in the previous week. Its last four weeks' average market share is 17.5 per cent.

Red FM is at No. 4 in the city; its market share of 9.8 per cent has remained unchanged since Week 10. Radio City is at No. 5 with a market share of 8.2 per cent, losing 0.3 percentage point vis-à-vis Week 11.

Big FM is at No. 6 with a market share of 7.1 per cent; it is followed by Radio One with a market share of 5.2 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 12, Meow FM has a market share of 2.9 per cent; followed by AIR FM Rainbow and Vividh Bharati (1.8 per cent each), Hit FM (1.4 per cent) and Akashvani Delhi (0.4 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM leads in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM at No. 2 and

No. 3, respectively. Big FM has a market share of 19.4 per cent, while its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 19.5 per cent.

Radio Mirchi has a market share of 17.7 per cent, gaining 0.5 percentage point over last week. Its last four weeks' average market share is 17 per cent. Fever FM has a market share of 15.2 per cent, with a loss of 0.2 percentage point. Its last four weeks' average market share turns out to be 15.3 per cent.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.8 per cent; its average market share for the last four weeks is 12.4 per cent. At No. 5, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 9.6 per cent, with a marginal gain of 0.3 percentage point over Week 11. The radio station's four weeks' average market share is 9.8 per cent.

This week, Red FM has made a comeback at No. 6. It has garnered a market share of 8.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage point. Slipping a position to No. 7, Radio One has a market share of 8.4 per cent.

Among others in Bengaluru in Week 12, Vividh Bharati has garnered a market share of 4.6 per cent. It is followed by Radio Indigo (2.5 per cent), Gyan Vani (0.6 per cent) and Akashvani (0.2 per cent).

Kolkata

The No. 1 player in the city is Radio Mirchi with a market share of 20.2 per cent. Its four weeks' average market share is 20.4 per cent.

Big FM and Friends FM occupy second and third spot, respectively. Big FM has a market share of 17 per cent, 0.5 percentage point higher than its four weeks' average market share of 16.5 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 11.9 per cent, losing 0.3 percentage point in comparison to Week 11. This is also lower than its last four weeks' average market share of 13.1 per cent.

Aamar FM is at No. 4, with a market share of 10.7 per cent, losing 0.1 percentage point over Week 11. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station stands at 10.6 per cent.

Red FM is placed at No. 5, with a market share of 9.1 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 8.6 per cent. It is followed by Fever FM with a market share of 7.6 per cent. Its last four weeks' average share turns out to be 8 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM occupy seventh and eighth spots in the city with market shares of 6.3 per cent and 5.4 per cent, respectively.

In Week 12, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 3.7 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.4 per cent), Akashvani (2.5 per cent), Power FM (1.4 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.6 per cent).
