Commenting on the partnership, Nivedith Alva, managing director, Miditech, says, "The tie-up with Global Agency will give us access to some of the biggest and most controversial global formats for the Indian market, as well as create an additional distribution network for own home-grown formats, which have potential to travel globally ."

Alva adds that over the past 17 years, Miditech has successfully localised large global formats, such as Pop Idol, Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover, Sesame Street, Fame Academy and many others. In addition, Miditech also creates original non-scripted and scripted formats.

In the recent past, Miditech and Global Agency partnered to bring the international show, Perfect Bride to Indian audiences. The show, which was aired on STAR Plus, is developed and owned by Global Agency.

The MoU is aimed at re-emphasising both the companies' commitment to strengthening their position in the Indian television space, by agreeing to use the formats developed by either of them for television shows.

In an official communiqué, Izzet Pinto, chief executive officer, Global Agency, comments, "With burgeoning television audiences, we are extremely bullish about creating a significant mark in the global television market.
