GEC watch: Top two channels record growth

Colors has added 31 GRPs in Week 22

STAR Plus, while still ruling as the most watched Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC), has increased its share in the latest week, as per TAM Media Research report data. The channel commands 25 per cent share of the overall GEC pie in Week 22 (C&S, 4+, HSM). The channel has recorded 336 GRPs.

Colors has increased its share from 20 per cent in Week 21 to 22 per cent in Week 22. The channel has added 31 GRPs and is at No. 2. Zee's relative share has declined to 18 per cent and it is at the No. 3 spot in Week 22.

Sony and Imagine TV, which are at the No. 4 and No. 5 ranks respectively, have maintained their shares at 12 per cent and 8 per cent respectively. SAB has garnered a 6 per cent relative share, followed by STAR One, which has garnered 4 per cent share.

DD1, STAR Utsav and Sahara One have garnered 2 per cent share each in Week 22.

Two of Zee's shows are in the Top 10 list in the latest week. Pavitra Rishta is the most watched programme among Hindi GECs, garnering a TVR of 6.7, followed by Dance India Dance Li'l Champions, which has recorded a TVR of 5.6.

Pratigya on STAR Plus follows closely at No. 3 with a TVR of 5.5, followed by Balika Vadhu, which has managed to rake in a TVR of 5.4. This marks the show's entry in the Top 10 list after a long time. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is at No. 5, garnering a TVR of 4.8 along with Uttaran.

The other programmes in the list are Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Na Aana Is Des Laado, Bidayi and Sab Ki Laadli Bebo.
