Commercial Bank of Ceylon appoints Madison Media Sri Lanka as media AoR

The agency won the business in a multi-agency pitch

Foraying into Sri Lanka a little over a year ago, Madison Media has begun to make its presence felt. Commercial Bank of Ceylon, a leading private sector bank in that country, has appointed Madison Media Sri Lanka as its media partner.

The account was won in a multi-agency pitch, in which Lowe and Starcom also participated.

Commenting on the win, Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director, Madison World, says in an official statement, "We are delighted that Commercial Bank of Ceylon has chosen Madison Media to be its partner. I am sure that Madison Media will be able to add a lot of strategic value to the bank, to achieve its business objectives."

The bank has been ranked as Sri Lanka's best bank for 12 successive years by Global Finance Awards. It has numerous other awards in its kitty too, and has been rated AAA by Brandfinance.

Madison Media Sri Lanka is a joint venture between Madison India and Sri Lanka's Media Factory. Among the major clients that the agency handles are Airtel, Allianz Insurance and Britannia.

Madison Media in India handles media planning and buying for companies such as Coca Cola, General Motors, Cadbury, Airtel, Godrej, Marico, Britannia and Tata Tea.
