Pandey has many achievements to his credit. In 2004, he became the first Asian to be the president of a Cannes jury, in 51 years of its history. He became the national creative director of Ogilvy & Mather India in 1994 and was inducted to Ogilvy's worldwide board in 2006. The Economic Times has also recognized him as the most influential person in Indian advertising, for no less than seven years.

The AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award is given to people who have exhibited leadership of the industry as individuals, who have tremendous contribution towards advancement and professionalism in the industry, and who are the best examples of personal integrity, values and ethics, consistent with the standards expected.
