Following a multi-agency pitch, IT hardware, mobile phones and electronic goods company Intex Technologies has appointed Grey Worldwide as its creative partner. Grey will take care of communication, advertising, marketing, branding and interactive services for the entire Intex portfolio comprising mobile phones, computer peripherals, PCs, consumer electronics and retail.

Confirming the development, Ketan Desai, branch head, Grey Worldwide Delhi, says, "Our joint vision is to turn Intex into a household consumer brand and a preferred entity in the enterprise sector. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."

In the last two years, the company claims to have witnessed growth in terms of reach, service network and product line expansion. It aspires to be worth Rs 1000 crore by March, 2011 and believes that Grey will play an important role in that endeavour by revamping the overall brand communication and go to market strategy.

The recent appointment of Perfect Relations as Intex's public relations agency is also in line with the revamp plans.

Speaking on the appointment, Vinayak Kumar Lal, general manager, marketing, Intex Technologies, says, "Being present in highly competitive domains with more than 350 products spread over 26 categories - all under the Intex brand - the company personifies a highly challenging account."

"Grey's presentation of a sound, long term strategic plan to enhance the equity of our brand gave it an upper hand. I believe it has understood the brand's requirements really well and has the right mix of capabilities and experience to execute its strategy successfully," he adds.
