Soon after completing a bachelors degree in Visual Arts from India Art College, Kolkata, Deb moved to Delhi in 1998 with the objective of pursuing a career in advertising. The same year, he got his first break with R Kanga Advertising, a Delhi-based agency. A year later, he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, where he spent close to three years, followed by a stint at Grey Worldwide.

In 2004, he had a short stint with Nexus Enterprise, after which he returned to Grey Worldwide. In 2008, he became part of the team headed by Josy Paul, which was responsible for setting up BBDO India.

Over the last 12 years, Deb has worked for clients such as PepsiCo (7Up and Nimbooz), P&G (Gillette), Wrigley's Orbit and Doublemint, Real TV, Dulux Paints, HP, Genpact, Suzuki Motorcycles, Haier, Chevrolet, Opel, Hyundai, Aviva Life Insurance, Ranbaxy and Maruti Suzuki.
