Samir Chonkar returns to Everest Brand Solutions as ECD

Chonkar returns to the agency after a stint at DraftFCB Ulka, where he was creative director since 2008, handling a diverse portfolio of brands

Samir Chonkar has returned to Everest Brand Solutions for a second stint as executive creative director.

Confirming the development, D Rajappa, president, Everest Brand Solutions, says, "Everest is delighted to welcome Chonkar at a senior leadership level. In his new role, we hope he will not only create impactful and great campaigns but also lead his team. As a mature advertising professional, his vast experience across categories will benefit the select set of blue chip brands that Everest represents."

Chonkar returns to the agency, headquartered at Mumbai, after a stint at DraftFCB Ulka, where he was creative director since 2008, handling a diverse portfolio of brands including Tata Indicom, Amul ice-cream, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Corporate and Bajaj Almond Oil, among others.

"I would add to Team Everest's passion for creating effective advertising that works well for its clients," says Chonkar.

Armed with a degree in applied arts and a passion for advertising, Chonkar joined Everest in 1992 and stayed on for the next 14 years. During his stint at the agency, he worked on a slew of FMCG brands such as Parle-G, Parle Monaco, Krackjack, Hide and Seek cookies, Tortoise mosquito repellents, Frooti and Bailley. He also handled brands ranging from Corelle to Emirates, LIC and ING Vysya, Hitachi, Siemens, Bagpiper, Shark Tooth Vodka and Romanov.

This was followed by a stint at M&C Saatchi as executive creative director, where he worked on brands such as Jet Airways, Franklin Templeton and Bajaj Allianz.
