Big CBS signs deal with Hathway Cable & Datacom

Big CBS Networks, the television joint venture between Reliance Broadcast Network and CBS Studios International, has closed yet another deal with Hathway Cable & Datacom.

The association with Hathway Cable, India's cable TV MSO with the relevant reach across India, will distribute the three premium English entertainment channels, christened Big CBS Prime, Big CBS Spark and Big CBS Love. The deal covers both Hathway's own as well as its joint venture networks across all relevant markets, covering both analog and digital cable TV platforms.

Ashutosh, chief operating officer, Big Broadcasting, says in an official communiqué, "We want India to be able to experience the superlative content from the Big CBS stable right at its launch and our deal with Hathway only furthers this endeavour. Hathway's reach across our relevant markets and its audience entertainment preference ensures a partnership that is a win-win for both. We look forward to offering India entertainment that it didn't have access to this far."

Jayaraman K, managing director, Hathway Cable & Datacom, adds, "Audiences today are far more aware, knowledgeable and well in line with international trends. Big CBS' programming, which is almost concurrent to the USA, is the perfect answer to their entertainment requirements.

"With access to these channels, they no longer have to make do with old episodes, something we are confident the audience will appreciate. We are also confident that this huge USP will work excellently with our subscribers. We wish Big CBS the very best as it gets ready for the launch."

A few days ago, there was a similar deal signed with Den Networks for Delhi and NCR. According to the deal, Den will distribute the three channels of Big CBS - Big CBS Prime, Big CBS Spark and Big CBS Love - on its analog and digital cable television platforms.
