Dainik Bhaskar appoints Hemant Arora as chief officer, marketing and corporate sales

Arora's appointment will be effective from December 13; he will be based in Mumbai.

Dainik Bhaskar has appointed Hemant Arora as chief officer, marketing and corporate sales. Earlier, Arora was senior vice-president, Aidem Ventures.

Arora's appointment will be effective from December 13. He will be based in Mumbai and will report to Sudhir Aggarwal, managing director, Dainik Bhaskar Group.

Speaking to afaqs!, Arora says, "In my new role, I will be responsible for overall marketing and sales." He adds that strategies are being drawn at this stage.

Arora has more than 13 years of experience in media sales, including print, Internet and television. At Aidem, where he worked for nine months from April as senior vice-president, Arora was responsible for ad sales revenue, business planning and sales strategy development and implementation across NDTV Profit, NDTV Good Times, Mi Marathi and Radio Dhamaal.

Earlier, Arora worked with NDTV Media for seven years (February 2003-April 2010). At NDTV, he was responsible for ad sales revenue of multiple platforms including NDTV news channels (NDTV India, NDTV Profit), NDTV Good Times, Sahara Network (Sahara One, Filmy, Firangi) and SAB TV Network (Mi Marathi), apart from driving sales strategy and managing client and partner relationships.

Arora's earlier stints include Eternal Dream, where he worked as regional head, sales; Discovery Networks India, where he was assistant manager; and Automartindia.com, where he worked as assistant manager, media and brand communication.

After completing PGDBA (Marketing and International Business) from Maharishi Institute of Management, Noida, Arora started his career at Times of India as senior officer in 1997.
