R K Swamy Media Group has roped in Bhupesh Upadhye as national buying director, Media Direction. He will report to Chintamani Rao, president, R K Swamy Media Group.

Upadhye comes to R K Swamy from GroupM, where he worked successively in Fulcrum-Mindshare, MEC and Motivator. Previously, he has also been associated with Interactions (part of the Lintas Group), Carat and Mediacom.

Commenting on his move, Upadhye said in an official communiqué, "Media Direction is a growing agency and has a lot of potential to grow faster. My role is to take buying to the next level and deliver better value to clients."

Rao says, "I am happy to welcome Bhupesh to our team. His addition is part of our continuous endeavour to deliver ever better value to our clients."

Media Direction is part of R K Swamy Hansa, a marketing communications and services group serving over 150 companies in India and the USA.
