RAM Week 48: Radio Mirchi leads in top three metros

While Radio Mirchi is the number one station in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, Big FM continues to lead in Bengaluru.

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 48 is out. Here is an update on the four RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi is No. 1 in the city with a market share of 18.3 per cent, registering a gain of 0.9 percentage points over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 13.1 per cent.

Radio city is stable at its second position, while it has seen a 0.5 percentage drop in its market share. The radio station's market share is at 14.7 per cent while its last four weeks' average market share is 13.9 per cent.

Red FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 13.9 per cent, registering a gain of 1.1 percentage points. Its last four weeks' average market share is 13.1 per cent.

While Fever is at the fourth spot with a market share of 12.2 per cent, Big FM's stand's fifth with a market share of 12.1 per cent. Also, Fever's last four week average market share is 11.4 per cent while that of Big FM is at 11.8 per cent.

Air FM Gold occupies the sixth spot with a market share of 9.5 per cent while its last four week average is at 11.8 per cent.

Radio One is placed seventh with a market share of 7.1 per cent and a gain of 1.5 percentage points. AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 4 per cent with a loss of 1.7 percentage points.

Among the other stations in Mumbai in Week 48 are Oye FM, which has a market share of 3.7 per cent, followed by Vividh Bharati (3.4 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 24.9 per cent with its last four weeks' average share at 24.2 per cent. It saw a gain of 0.8 percentage points in Week 48.

The next two spots are occupied by Fever FM and AIR FM Gold, with market shares of 18.8 per cent and 15.2 per cent, respectively. While Fever FM has gained 0.7 percentage points; AIR FM Gold has registered a loss of 1.7 percentage points. The average last four week market shares of the stations are 18.2 per cent and 17.4 per cent respectively.

Red FM is at No. 4 with a market share of 10.1 per cent, registering a gain of 0.5 percentage points. Radio City is at the fifth position with a market share of 8.3 per cent wherein its market share has seen a marginal drop of 0.1 per cent.

In Week 48, Big FM and Radio One have garnered market shares of 6.7 per cent and 5.6 per cent respectively, occupying the sixth and seventh positions. The average market share of Big FM is 7.4 per cent and that of Radio One is 5.4 per cent.

Oye! FM and Hit 95 FM follow with market shares of 3.1 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively.

Bengaluru

Once again, Big FM leads in Bengaluru with a market share of 20.9 per cent, registering a gain of 1 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 19.6 per cent.

Radio Mirchi, at No. 2, has a market share of 18.4 per cent, registering a gain of 1.3 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 17.4 per cent. Fever FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 15.3 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 percentage points. Its average market share for the previous four weeks is 15.4 per cent.

Radio City is at the fourth position with a market share of 13.4 per cent, which is 0.9 per cent more than its previous week market share. It is followed by Radio One and Red FM with a market share of 9.5 per cent and 9.1 per cent respectively.

AIR FM Rainbow, which has a market share of 5.8 per cent, registering a loss of 3.3 percentage points in comparison to Week 47.

Among the other stations in Bengaluru in Week 48 are Vividh Bharti, which has a market share of 3.6 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.9 per cent) and Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20.3 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage points over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 20.7 per cent.

Big FM is No. 2 with a market share of 17.2 per cent, shedding a minor 0.1 per cent share over the previous week. Friends FM and Amar FM are at No. 4 and No. 5 positions respectively. Friends FM registered a market share of 12.8 per cent, while Amar FM recorded a market share of 10.9 per cent.

Fever FM is placed fifth with a market share of 9.3 per cent, recording a gain of 0.8 percentage points. Red FM is at No. 6 with a market share of 8.6 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage points.

Radio One is at No. 7 with a market share of 6.9 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 percentage points over the previous week. Oye! FM follows next with a market share of 4.6 per cent and with a gain of 0.2 per cent compared to the previous week.

This week, among other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow and Air FM Gold have secured market shares of 2.6 per cent and 2.9 per cent respectively.
