RAM Week 49: Top players in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai lose market share

Though, Radio Mirchi and Big FM have retained their numero uno positions in their respective markets.

In Week 49, according to RAM data for Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, most big players have lost market share in three of the RAM cities. Here's an update.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 16.8 per cent, losing 1.5 percentage points vis-à-vis the previous week. The average market share for the radio station for the last four weeks is 17.7 per cent.

Radio City is at No. 2, with a market share of 14.7 per cent, 0.5 percentage point more than the last week. Radio FM and Fever FM are placed at the third and fourth positions with market shares of 13.1 per cent and 11.4 per cent, respectively. Both stations registered a dip of 0.8 percentage point in their respective market shares.

This week, Big FM is at No. 5 with a market share of 12.5 per cent, gaining 0.4 percentage point. AIR FM Gold follows with a market share of 11.9 per cent.

Radio One and Air FM Rainbow are at No. 7 and No. 8, with market shares of 5.7 per cent and 5.3 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 4 per cent, followed by Oye! FM, which has 3.4 per cent.

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 24.5 per cent; while its last four weeks' average market share is 24.2 per cent. It registered a loss of 0.4 percentage point in the current week.

The next two spots are occupied by Fever FM and AIR FM Gold, with market shares of 18.3 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively. While Fever FM registered a loss of 0.5 percentage point; AIR FM Gold lost 0.2 percentage point in market share. The last four weeks' average market shares of the two stations are 18.3 per cent and 16.8 per cent, respectively.

Red FM is at No. 4 with a market share of 10.7 per cent, registering a gain of 0.6 percentage point. It is followed by Radio City, which has an unchanged market share of 8.3 per cent.

In Week 49, Big FM and Radio One have garnered market shares of 7.2 per cent and 5.8 per cent respectively, occupying the sixth and seventh positions. The last four weeks' average market share of Big FM is 7.1 per cent; while that of Radio One is 5.5 per cent.

Oye! FM and Hit 95 FM follow with market shares of 2.9 per cent and 2.5 per cent, respectively.

Bengaluru

As usual, Big FM leads the pack in Bengaluru with a market share of 20.2 per cent, registering a loss of 0.7 percentage point. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 20 per cent.

Radio Mirchi, at No. 2, has a market share of 17.2 per cent, registering a loss of 1.2 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 17.6 per cent.

Fever FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 15.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage point.

Radio City follows with a market share of 13.5 per cent, which is 0.1 percentage point more than its previous week's rating.

Radio One, at No. 5, has a market share of 8.5 per cent, registering a loss of 1 percentage point. It is followed by Red FM, which has a market share of 9.4 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage point in comparison to Week 48.

At No. 7, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 7.6 per cent, registering a gain of 1.8 percentage points. Vividh Bharati follows with a market share of 5.1 per cent, registering a gain of 1.5 percentage points over the previous week. The radio station's average market share for the past four weeks is 4.7 per cent.

Among the other stations in Bengaluru in Week 49 are Radio Indigo, which has a market share of 2.3 per cent, followed by Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi leads the pack with a market share of 20.5 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 percentage point over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 20.6 per cent.

Big FM is No. 2 with a market share of 17.8 per cent, gaining 0.6 percentage point over the previous week.

Friends FM and Aamar FM are at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Friends FM has a market share of 12.1 per cent; while Aamar FM has 10.9 per cent.

Fever FM is at No. 5 with a market share of 8.7 per cent, losing 0.6 percentage point. Red FM follows with a market share of 8.9 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage point.

Radio One is at No. 7 with a market share of 6.5 per cent, registering a loss of 0.4 percentage point over the previous week. Oye! FM follows with a market share of 4.9 per cent and a gain of 0.3 percentage point compared to the previous week.

This week, among other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Gold and Air FM Rainbow have secured market shares of 3.4 per cent and 2.3 per cent, respectively.
