Hungama Mobile launches Koffee with Karan on mobile platform

Hungama Mobile has tied up with STAR World to make available the archived episodes of its TV show, Koffee with Karan Season 3, on the mobile platform.

To access the episodes on mobile platform, users will be required to dial a number, 5464646, from their mobile phones and select the option and episode of Koffee with Karan that they want to listen. Consumers will be charged Rs 3 per minute to access the service.

In an official communiqué, Albert Almeida, chief operating officer, Hungama Mobile, says, "We are excited about our association with Koffee with Karan Season 3, which is certainly piquing the viewers' interest with its content. As players in the mobile VAS entertainment space already serving a major share of film entertainment content, our association with STAR World and Koffee with Karan now sees Hungama Mobile take a significant step into mainstream television entertainment as well."

Recently, Sony Entertainment Television has also experimented with the mobile platform. Last month, it launched a game for the quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), which is a virtual replication of its quiz show of the same name and lets users play the quiz on the mobile platform.

The TV channel has distributed the game as a downloadable application on the mobile sites of all major mobile phone operators. In future, Sony Entertainment plans to offer the KBC game on mobile application stores owned by various operators (such as Airtel and Tata Docomo) and handset manufacturers (such as Nokia Ovi).
