Eapen was appointed CEO, MRUC in April.

Joseph Eapen, chief executive officer, Media Research Users Council (MRUC), has put in his papers at the organisation.

While no official confirmation was available at the time of filing this report, a company source confirmed the development.

MRUC had appointed Eapen in April this year. He had moved in from aMap, where he was CEO, to help MRUC expand the scope of research to areas beyond print and outdoor, as well as to substantially scale the quality and quantity of research across different media.

Eapen has 18 years of experience in media research in India and abroad and has carried out extensive research in print, television and radio, as well as other consumer research programmes.

Eapen started his career with Television Audience Measurement (TAM) in 1992. He managed the first TAM operation in the Gulf and spent close to 10 years there. His next stop was TGI, a network of single-source syndicated consumer surveys, in the Gulf. He has about 16 years of research experience in the Gulf.

In 2008, he came to India and joined aMap as director, research. Later, he went on to become the CEO of aMap.
