Kanika Saxena joins Balaji Motion Pictures as CMO

Saxena has moved from UTV Bindass, where she was associate vice-president - marketing.

Kanika Saxena has joined Balaji Motion Pictures as chief marketing officer (CMO). Prior to this, she was associate vice-president, UTV Bindass.

Speaking to afaqs!, Saxena says, "As CMO, the focus will primarily be on three main areas -- alliances, partnership with brands and advertising and promotions of films produced by the Balaji banner. The idea will be to bring brands and integrate them thematically in cinema. This year, Balaji Motion Pictures will release eight films, which includes Ragini MMS, Shor, Dirt Picture and many more."

Saxena has over eight years of experience, of which about two years have been spent at UTV Bindass. She was actively involved in the annual channel strategy formulation and brand building initiatives to ensure that the channel achieved top position in the youth entertainment genre. Prior to UTV Bindass, Saxena worked at Sahara One as senior manager -- marketing for over a year.

Saxena started her career in 1999, as marketing executive with real estate company, CB Richard Ellis, Bengaluru. This was followed by a year-long stint as consultant with Carat Media Services. In 2003, she became the group head at Mindshare, where she spent two years; this was followed by a year at Zee TV as senior manager - marketing. She also worked as manager - marketing at Sony Entertainment Television from January 2006 to October 2007, before moving to Sahara One.
